Six Missing
“LIVE at rockwood 3”
Released Dec 13, 2019
On March 4th, 2018 two friends reunited after six months of being apart. They said their hellos, sat down and played unrehearsed and completely improvised music in one of NYC's most prestigious venue's Rockwood 3. The audience was sold out and the room was patient, quiet, and attentive as the two explored sonic landscapes unknown to them.
Eric and I had a lengthy history of sitting in silence and exploring together. We share an unspoken language in that we can sense where the other is headed and rush to meet the other there. I had decided to push myself further and book a show at one of my favorite NYC spots - to my surprise they agreed and gave me the “sit down” stage downstairs. I called Eric, who was living in PA again, and asked if he’d be interested in playing - thankfully he said he was. We had discussed getting together just the night before in Astoria to “rehearse” and shake off some hesitancies we may have experienced since last playing together. But a snow storm kept Eric from making the trip and we made the decision to just do our classic “wing it” move the night of the show. Eric parked 2 hours before our set, we said hello - hung upstairs and then loaded onto the stage where we played the first notes we had played together in six months in front of a sold-out room.It was beautiful and I was thrilled with the show.
It meant so much to me to have friends and family there for the ride.
