Six Missing
“repeat”
Released feb 02, 2018
Fully embracing the ambient explorations.
Summer 2017 came to a close with a move from Astoria, NY upstate to Brewster, NY. After spending four years in Brewster and then another four years in Astoria the time felt right to retreat to a more calm and tranquil lifestyle. Circumstances arose in which the situation became reversed and a move back to Astoria was imminent. Truly, the house doesn't make the home.
During the time spent in Brewster, a flurry of inspiration and anxiety outpoured resulting in meditative and improvised guitar pieces. Taking the pieces a bit further with studio production such as synths and drums and piano became the goal. Enlisting the help of childhood friends and former bandmates made the photo come into focus.
This collection represents the turmoil and tranquility of life.
In a time when more and more of us are plugged in and struggling to slow down, "Repeat" urges us to take a moment to sit with our feelings and to pay attention to our thoughts. It's okay to zone out. It's okay to feel sad. But just know, it's all okay.
Please listen and enjoy whenever and wherever possible. If you find that you've taken a moment with the music, please let me know.
All tracks except "Chalk" and "Moving Away" were completely improvised.
This collection is dedicated to the one I love, Hanna.
