Six Missing

“bachelorette”

Released oct 25, 2019

I got completely lost for upwards of six hours. I was playing, recording, filming, mixing, editing, posting and then all of a sudden, the day passed. It was incredible.

This weekend was actually kind of special for me in that I was in the Basement [sea level sounds] playing music where I first began playing music almost 20 years ago. When I started, I had a guitar and an amp and it blossomed into a place where I rehearsed, recorded, and made loud sounds until I moved out after college. Returning for the weekend to this place was so momentous. It felt like a homecoming because it was. I was inspired by the space and it felt like all time had stood still.

The resulting Basement Jams were released over the course of a month onto YouTube and were the full length pieces. Bachelorette is the edited version of each of those tracks made for bite-sized consumption.

This was my first real “deployment” of my Ableton looping rig. It’s where I had always heard my sound going and this was just the next step. I’m pleased to have captured this performance in this way.
